About this tool
iPhone photos are HEIC, and many websites refuse them. Convert a HEIC photo to JPG here, in your browser: the photo never goes to a converter site.
HEIC and JPG
- HEIC: the iPhone's photo format: small, but Chrome can't open it and many sites reject it.
- JPG: lossy, made for photos, no transparency, accepted almost everywhere.
What changes when you convert
- JPG opens everywhere and is accepted by almost every upload form.
- The JPG is often larger than the HEIC, because HEIC is the more efficient format.
- Rotation is applied and location data is removed.
When to convert HEIC to JPG
- A site rejects your iPhone photo.
- You need to open the photo on a computer without HEIC support.
Private by design
Converter websites upload your file to their servers to do this. With this tool the conversion happens in your browser: the file is never uploaded, to us or anyone else, and location data (EXIF) is removed from photos along the way.
Converting because a website only accepts JPG? Krisox Extension Pro does it for you in the upload form itself, as you upload.
Without this tool
- On your iPhone: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible saves new photos as JPG.
- Mac: open the photo in Preview, then File → Export and choose JPEG.
Questions
How does this open HEIC when Chrome can't?

What about Live Photos?
