PNG to PDF converter

Convert PNG to PDF in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.

About this tool

Screenshots of statements, receipts and confirmations are PNGs, and forms often want them as PDF. Convert a PNG to PDF here, in your browser, so the screenshot stays on your device.

PNG and PDF

  • PNG: lossless, keeps sharp edges and transparency, large for photos.
  • PDF: a document format, often the only one official and academic forms accept.

What changes when you convert

  • One page per image, with the image's own proportions and no margins.
  • Images with transparency are stored as PNG inside the PDF, keeping it.
  • Images without transparency are stored as JPG inside the PDF, which makes the file much smaller.

When to convert PNG to PDF

  • A form only accepts PDF.
  • You need to submit a screenshot as a document.

Private by design

Converter websites upload your file to their servers to do this. With this tool the conversion happens in your browser: the file is never uploaded, to us or anyone else, and location data (EXIF) is removed from photos along the way.

Converting because a website only accepts PDF? Krisox Extension Pro does it for you in the upload form itself, as you upload.

Without this tool

  • Chrome: drag the PNG into a tab, press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P) and choose "Save as PDF".
  • Mac: open it in Preview and choose File → Export as PDF.

Questions

Is the text in my screenshot selectable in the PDF?

No. The PDF contains the screenshot as a picture, whichever tool you use.

Why is the PDF smaller than my PNG?

Without transparency, the image is stored as JPG inside the PDF, which is far more compact for detailed images.
